There is a huge move to lay claim to the African (meaning ‘of Africa’ in this case) women’s experiences of religion and spirituality; to engender a different history in which women are central and to ensure that women play a pivotal role in creating new and spiritually liberating ways of theorising, practicing and worshipping.
